I Want to Wake Up in Paris...

I am completely gravitated to all things Paris.  Paris calls to me daily and I look forward to her presence in my daily life.  Recently I saw the amazing Hot Sardines, an American new-old jazz band perform live in Livermore, California.

As I researched the band and listened to their music I came upon this amazing gem that they produced.  I LOVE it and it is performed oh so perfect, smokey, and exquisitely - kind readers you MUST check them out:

Sadly, they did not perform this beautiful piece, but that won't stop me from sharing this beauty with my blog fans.  I have now memorized this song and I will put out into the universe that I WILL sing this song someday - preferably in Paris and maybe one day with the amazing Hot Sardines!

I found the lyrics on SongLyrics and could NOT resist posting the GORGEOUS lyrics.  The lyrics, very much, remind me of my poetry:

I want to wake up in Paris
As the city greets the day
I want to wake up in Paris
and watch the sun rise on quais

The magic of a bridge above the Seine is rare
And as she flows, it seems she knows we're there

I want to wake up in Paris
and stroll along a rue
I want to melt into Paris
and lose a day or two

I can't explain why this refrain
Makes my heart feel so new
I want to wake up in Paris with you

A rainy day, a small cafe, the world stand still
The city glow as though she always will

I want to wake up in Paris
I've been away too long
When just a single day in Paris
Makes all other days feel wrong

I can't explain why this refrain
Mya my heart feel so new
I want to wake up in Paris with you
